Welcome to The High Wycombe & District Model Aircraft Club
We are one of the oldest and largest clubs in the South of England.
We were founded in the 1930s and today enjoy flying a wide variety
of modern, radio controlled models.
We are able to offer : -
Two flying sites, one at Flackwell Heath near High Wycombe, and the other near Thame.
The Flackwell Heath field is suitable for most models including larger or more powerful types.
Flackwell now boasts ; Clubhouse with gas Cooking facilities ; Barbeque ; Field Plane benches ;
Bench seating for 4-6 ; vehicle access & parking.
Chinnor field is eminently suitable for Gliding, Training, and Power models due to the large
open expanse and grass with no obstructions.
Affiliation to the BMFA, embracing their training scheme, with excellent Instructor's and
qualified Examiners free of charge.
Accessibility for disabled persons.
Advice and encouragement for new members of all ages and comprehensive training to get them
through their early flights and eventually the BMFA "A" & "B" qualifications.
Monthly Social Evenings, occasionally with guest speakers, table-top sales of models and
equipment, friendly competitions, or other aviation-related activities.
A Monthly Newsletter and Web Site to keep everyone in touch with Club competitions and
forthcoming activities. Field Webcam to encourage communal flying.
An active Club with a friendly atmosphere, promoting the sport and encouraging responsible,
Competitive annual subscription.
