The High Wycombe and District Model Aircraft Club has hosted successful indoor flying sessions in recent years. Unfortunately they could not be held recently due to the pandemic. However
we hope to hold sessions again next winter.
Pilot Requirements: BMFA membership is required and BMFA membership
cards/slips will be required to be shown before flying. Non-BMFA members who are
novice flyers will be considered if they contact HWDMAC via the Club Contact Page
before the event.
Permissible Models: Models are limited to small indoor electric models weighing
less than 100g. Heavier indoor electric models will probably be OK but get in touch beforehand, using the above link, to make sure.
Costs: Flying costs will be advised before the next session. There is car park charge of 50p for 2 hours.
Pilots to stand in the pilot’s box when flying.
All aircraft to fly left hand circuits.
No flying behind the line of the pilot’s box
Limited number of models flying at the same time:
o600mm wingspan or bigger – 3 planes
oLess than 600mm wingspan – 6 planes
Aircraft must NOT be flown within 6’ of the ceiling:
oThe ceiling height is 30’ so it isn’t a problem
oThere is a risk that models flying close to the ceiling will trigger the fire alarm sensors
No mains electrical equipment is allowed.
Other Indoor Flying
Our friends at the Aylesbury and District Model Flying Club also organise indoor flying during the winter and you may wish to look at their web site here for further information.
